Quarterly Fresh Air Tests (SCBA & SCUBA)

We provide structured Quarterly Fresh Air Testing for breathing air compressors used for both SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) and SCUBA (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) systems. This service delivers ongoing assurance that breathing air quality is routinely verified against recognised standards and supported by clear, professional documentation suitable for audits, compliance records, and governance.

Fresh air testing is conducted on site, with samples taken directly from the compressor or fill point. Air quality is assessed against the applicable standard, including AS/NZS 1715 for SCBA systems and EN 12021 for SCUBA air, providing confidence that breathing air supplied to users meets expected safety and quality requirements.

Air Quality Parameters Tested

  • Carbon monoxide

  • Carbon dioxide

  • Oxygen content

  • Moisture and dew point

  • Oil mist and hydrocarbon contamination

Testing is completed using calibrated analysis equipment and follows a consistent, repeatable methodology. Results can be trended over time, supporting early identification of developing issues within compressor systems or filtration components.

Where results indicate non-conformance, we provide practical, actionable guidance, including likely causes, recommended corrective actions, and support with retesting once rectification has been completed.

Fresh air testing can be scheduled on a quarterly, six-monthly, or annual basis, depending on system use and risk profile, and can be aligned with compressor servicing, inspections, or broader emergency response and life-support equipment programs. This integrated approach minimises disruption while supporting a complete breathing air management strategy for SCBA and SCUBA systems.
