The Petzl ASAP is a mobile fall arrester designed to provide continuous fall protection for work at height and technical rope systems. During normal movement, the device travels freely along the rope, following the user without manual intervention. In the event of a fall, slide, or sudden acceleration, the ASAP automatically locks onto the rope to arrest the descent.

The device functions on vertical or angled ropes and will lock even if the rope is inadvertently grabbed during a fall. When paired with the Petzl AXESS energy absorber, the ASAP is rated for two-person rescue loads up to 250 kg, making it suitable for rescue-backed systems and professional applications.
